Michigan Organizing Strategy Enabling Strength Action (MOSES Action), a 501c4 social welfare organization, is the sister organization of Metropolitan Organizing Strategy Enabling Strength (MOSES) 501c3, which is a nonprofit organization dedicated to bringing together the power of grassroots organizing and public policy to address social, economic, and racial issues in Metro Detroit. We organize congregations serving communities of color, working together to build a culture of civic engagement and power building in these important centers of community. MOSES/MOSES Action develops, coordinates, and implements non-partisan field programs and strategies, including issue organizing, voter registration, and voter education and mobilization. Through voter engagement, issue-based organizing, and leadership training, MOSES focuses on building the political power of low-income residents in communities of color. Year-round, MOSES engages with residents around six issues: justice reform, inclusive democracy, infrastructure equity, economic dignity, healthy & equitable neighborhoods, and education equity.

Our Mission: To organize communities, develop faith-based leaders and build relationships to advocate for social justice through a group of diverse congregations and organizations. MOSES accomplishes this through training leaders in churches, synagogues, mosques, and local neighborhood residents, teaching participants how to articulate their shared values and work with their constituents to take collective action in the public arena.
